Queen City Swizzle Cocktail at Optimist Hall in Charlotte

Led by Stephanie Andrews, Spindle Bar recently launched a tiki-specific Airstream outside of Charlotte’s Optimist Hall.  In homage to their home city, Andrews created the Queen City Swizzle, a colorful, herbaceous drink that walks the line between sweet and smoky.

    Ingredients
  • 1 ounce Rum
  • ½ ounce Mezcal
  • 1 ounce Pineapple syrup
  • 3/4 oz Pineapple juice
  • 3/4 ounce Lime juice
  • ½ ounce Green chartreuse
  • Mint leaves, divided
  • 1/4 ounce Peychaud’s bitters
steps
1. In a cocktail tin, add all ingredients up to mint leaves (reserving some for garnish), muddle, and stir. Pour over crushed ice, and float Peychaud’s on top. Slap remaining mint to release essential oils and garnish.
