Sutler’s Gin, distilled in small batches in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, balances that familiar juniper taste but holds a secret: It pairs best with lemon rather than lime. Noting this, distiller Scot Sanborn recommends this refreshing basil lemonade for your summer gin libations. Simple, refreshing, and an easy cocktail to batch, this beverage will pair well with any upcoming spring or summertime activities.
10 to 15 fresh basil leaves
1 (52-ounce bottle) Simply Lemonade
1 bottle of Sutler’s Gin
Garnish: 1 to 2 lemons, sliced into wheels
- Add basil to Simply Lemonade. Seal with side and let bottle sit, inverted, overnight or until leaves begin to brown. Strain leaves immediately.
- Transfer lemonade to a carafe or bowl, add gin and lemon wheels. Serve over ice.
