Music City Chef Jam Brings Mississippi Chefs to Nashville

Mississippi chefs take over Nashville for Music City Chef Jam on January 24.

For one night only, chefs from around Mississippi head to Music City to give Nashvillians a taste of Mississippi, bringing together the vibrant food cultures of Mississippi and Nashville. Enthusiastic food lovers will experience the diversity and richness of Mississippi’s culinary heritage and modern flavors, offering Nashville residents and visitors a chance to savor the flavors of the Magnolia State for one unforgettable evening.

Music City Chef Jam participating restaurants will include Mississippi specials, prepared by guest chefs, in addition to their regular menu. Reservations are recommended.

Austin Sumrall | White Pillars

Mississippi chef and Music City Chef Jam Participant Austin Sumrall

Austin Sumrall, is the chef and co-owner of White Pillars Restaurant and Lounge in Biloxi, Mississippi. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Sumrall is a champion of Mississippi food culture and farm-to-table cuisine. 

In 2020, he was nominated by the James Beard Foundation for “Best Chef South.” In 2021 he brought home the title of “King of American Seafood 2021” after winning top prize in the Great American Seafood Cookoff.

This year he was featured in two Food Network televised cooking competitions. He came in second on the Southern round of Chopped National tournament and brought home the winning title against Iron Chef, Alex Guarnaschelli on her show, Alex vs America.

Regina Charboneau | “Queen Of Biscuits”

Chef Regina Charboneau has been hailed as Mississippi’s “Queen of Biscuits” by the New York Times, the Travel Channel with Andrew Zimmern, and most recently the Hallmark Channel.

Born and raised in Natchez, Mississippi, Charboneau has worked as a camp cook in the bush of Alaska, created and owned restaurants in San Francisco, been chef de cuisine on a set of luxurious vintage railway cars, served as the culinary director of the American Queen Riverboats, and written multiple cookbooks.

Regina has appeared on The Today Show, NBC NY, she has been a regular guest chef on the television show P. Allen Smith Gardens, and also contributed as a Southern Food writer for The Atlantic Magazine’s website. In addition to operating a cooking school in Natchez, she serves as a Culinary Ambassador for American Queen Voyages.

Chaz Lindsay | Pulito Osteria

Mississippi chef and Music City Chef Jam Participant Chaz Lindsay

Jackson native, chef Chaz Lindsay is the executive chef and owner of one of the city’s hottest new restaurants, Pulito Osteria. While Lindsay’s culinary career began humbly working in a local pizza shack as a teenager, it was there he set his sights on honing his knife skills and attending the Culinary Institute of America in New York.

Upon graduating in 2011, Lindsay worked in some of the most acclaimed kitchens in New York, including Craft, Colicchio and Sons, and Eleven Madison Park. Looking for his next adventure and a deeper appreciation of Italian cuisine, Lindsay traveled abroad to cook in a restaurant just outside of Rome.

Pulito Osteria is a full circle moment for Lindsay, serving as executive chef and owner and bringing together his family roots in Jackson while offering diners a fresh take on Italian-inspired dishes in a warm, welcoming setting.
