What if there was a local restaurant that had something for everyone in the family? Kids want burgers, dad wants Italian, mom is craving tacos? It sounds like something that’s too good to be true, but at Red’s Corner, a food truck park in Southern Pines, North Carolina, you really can satisfy almost any culinary craving.

Part neighborhood bar, part live music venue, part permanent food truck rodeo, Red’s has quickly become a staple for Southern Pines and Pinehurst locals and visitors alike. Owner Rachel Jurgens — who also owns Pony Espresso on the same property — purchased the two-acre lot a little more than four years ago and set about transforming the space into a garden oasis of food, drink, and fun.

Each day there are six or more food trucks on site, ranging from permanent fixtures to guest chefs. You’ll always be able to find Cajun treats from Bayou in the Pines, Italian-inspired street food at The Gravy Train, craft sandwiches from Grill Me Up and delectable fried chicken sandwiches from their brother truck, Fry Me Up. Dessert is covered by Cookies ‘n More (the “more” includes some of the best ice cream in Moore County) and breakfast food fans can find pastries, pancakes, bagel sandwiches, and more at The Breakfast Truck.

If those options weren’t enough, Red’s rotates through a selection of some of North Carolina’s most famous food trucks, including Chirba Chirba (dumplings), Meat & Greek, Wildfire Pizza, and Cousins Maine Lobster. Enjoy your selections (because of course you should try a bit from each truck!) under the pergola, on the picnic tables, or out on the lawn. Give the kids a cookie and send them off to play on the jungle gym while you chow down.

There’s a full bar serving cocktails, beer, and wine, which pairs perfectly with the live music on the lawn on Thursday through Sunday nights. A Sunday market showcases local makers and other vendors, and Red’s hosts plenty of one-off events throughout the year.

Whereas a brick-and-mortar restaurant is often stuck with offering up one concept, Red’s has managed to create something truly unique for Moore County – a “restaurant” where the menu changes almost nightly based on what you choose, with plenty of space to stretch out with family and friends and let the kids run free. Located right at the edge of downtown Southern Pines, Red’s Corner is a one-of-a-kind experience whether you’re in town for a day or have been a Moore County and Sandhills local for decades.
