Ridgeland charms when the leaves turn color and the fresh air gives its first indication of breezy autumn’s arrival. Just north of the capital city in central Mississippi, this boutique town brims with those passionate for quality time in a beautiful setting. Whether that quality is wellness and outdoor activity, dining experiences, gift store treasures, or events, adventure can be found waiting around each welcoming corner.
Located along the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway, Ridgeland is home to several points of interest attributed to the national scenic byway. The Chisha Foka Multi-Use Trail is a 10-mile paved path that runs through historic Choctaw lands. Today, trail users can enjoy the recreational opportunities and the trees, wildflowers, and wildlife of this protected greenspace. Try Ridgeland’s new bikeshare program powered by Koloni Fleets, or walk, jog, or bring a four-legged friend along. Bikes for rent are conveniently located near an entrance to the trail near The Bike Crossing. Hop off the trail to explore Old Trace Park and stop to take in the views of the Reservoir Overlook at the trail’s north terminus.
