James Beard Semifinalist Sophina Uong of Mister Mao Heads to Sullivan’s Island for a one night only seafood feast with Chef Jason Stanhope. On Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 3–6PM, two powerhouse chefs are joining forces for an unforgettable afternoon at Sullivan’s Fish Camp—Chef Jason Stanhope’s new residency.
Chef Sophina Uong, the bold and brilliant force behind New Orleans’ beloved Mister Mao and a 2024 James Beard Best Chef South semifinalist, is making her way to the Holy City to team up with Chef Jason Stanhope for a creative coastal cookout.
On the menu? A Lowcountry Khmer Boil—a funky, flavor-packed twist on the traditional Lowcountry boil, infused with Cambodian flair and Uong’s signature “inauthentic” global style. Alongside the boil, guests can enjoy fresh, briny bites from Stanhope’s raw bar, featuring pristine local seafood and seasonal offerings.
Expect a vibrant, come-as-you-are celebration of Southern hospitality, big flavors, and beachside vibes—all set against the relaxed backdrop of Sullivan’s Fish Camp.
