1½ ounces aged rum (Flor de Caña recommended)
1½ ounces reposado tequila (el Jimador recommended)
2 ounces freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
1½ ounces Coco Lopez
½ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
¼ ounce allspice dram*
Garnish: grated nutmeg
The Turnover is a transitional cocktail, relying on a good dose of grapefruit juice to bridge the gap between winter spices and warm weather spirits.
*Or substitute pimento dram or a dash of allspice.
- In a cocktail tin, combine all ingredients except nutmeg with ice. Shake vigorously, then strain into a chilled cocktail coupe or martini glass. Garnish with grated nutmeg.
