Apple Pie Spice-Infused Bourbon

1 (750-milliliter) bottle bourbon

¼ tablespoon ground nutmeg

1 large cinnamon stick

2-3 large red apples, sliced

In a large, lidded container, combine all ingredients, ensuring nutmeg, cinnamon stick, and apples are covered with bourbon. Allow to infuse for 7 days away from direct sunlight. Serve neat or on the rocks. (Peters recommends adding ¼- to ½-ounce simple syrup to each 2-ounce pour to round out the flavors.)
