Fashion Forward

By: The Local Palate
Fashion Forward cocktail

Ordering an old fashioned at a cocktail bar is a statement, often a test. DC-based rum distiller Cotton & Reed loves this version because it features the baking spice character of our Gold Rum while still reading true to form. And if your ideas about what constitutes an Old Fashioned are challenged just a bit? That’s gravy on top.

Note: Cotton & Reed macerate their house bitters with some coconut flakes and lime leaves for a little extra oomph and flavor, but plain Angostura and orange bitters will work just fine.
